Following the annual State of the State address on Feb. 1, Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) and House Republican Leader Tom Cross (R-Oswego) addressed the Capitol media corps from Cross’ Statehouse office.
Both Leaders expressed concern over the lack of details in Gov. Pat Quinn’s address, noting the Governor spent little time on what many consider Illinois’ most pressing issue: the state’s financial issues. Despite the state’s well-documented budget woes, Quinn proposed a number of costly “incentive” programs, yet provided no insight into how the proposals would be funded.
Radogno said she is ready and willing to participate in the process of fixing Illinois’ budget problems, and looks forward to more details about the Governor’s plan.

State Sen. Christine Radogno toured the new Mars Ice Cream manufacturing area at the company’s existing facility in Burr Ridge on January 27. Radogno visited the facility with other area representatives including Congresswoman Judy Biggert, State Rep. Jim Durkin (R-Western Springs) and Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso. Mars opened the new manufacturing area in Burr Ridge to accommodate the production of a new product line, and Radogno said the expansion will create new jobs in the area.
